李可染畫牛 Li Keran‘s painting of Buffalo

「牛」是李可染筆下重要的題材,與齊白石的「蝦」、徐悲鴻的「馬」、黃冑的「驢」,併稱20世紀水墨動物畫之四絕。李可染愛牛,對於牛終生勞瘁事農而不居功的品格,以及有形無華卻氣宇軒昂的形象尤其崇尚和稱讚,晚年愛之越深,更將自己在北京的畫室起名作「師牛堂」。 本次展覽系統性地展出數件李可染60至80年代以「牧牛」為主題的畫作。從《蒼松無藏萬古青》、《風雨牧歸》、《五牛圖》等圖,以及一本精緻的《十牛圖冊》和兩幅《百牛圖》手卷,多方面呈現李可染早年的生活底蘊,以及步入中年後對古典水墨孜孜不倦的探索。 Buffalo is the most important subject of Li Keran‘s works, his works of buffalo were the equal of the greatest masterpieces animal-ink painting in 20th century, including Qi Baishi’s Shrimp, Xu Beihong’s horse and Huang Zhou’s burro of Li Keran was fond of buffalo because of their noble disposition and humility, especially after Li Keran’s middle age, he got more and more passion on painting buffalo, and even named his studio in Beijing as“Shiniu Tang”(Learn from the Buffalo Studio). The exhibition will systematically display Li Karen’s works with the theme of “Herding Buffalo” from the 1960s to 1980s.
