「存在在雕塑中，在雕塑中存在」，而每個當下都是稍縱即逝的存在。 Every moment is “In progress.” 距上次個展已時過八年，藝術家賴冠仲從不間斷地思考與自我定位，用雙手捏塑出一件又一件觸動人心的作品。他的創作萌發自生活細微的觀察並與社會大眾連結，作品如耳邊呢喃，充滿溫度與安定感。此展是過去的堆疊、現在進行式以及未來的創新，開啟一個持續變化與成長的過程，並透過五個展區來呈現不同階段的創作與思維。賴冠仲將材質的語言發揮的淋漓盡致，讓不鏽鋼不僅僅是雕塑的材料，而是乘載著信念的對話媒介，它反映出周遭環境的時刻變遷，也無私的接納了人們所有的情感與思緒。展出的作品全然顛覆了金屬的冰冷沉重，表現出柔軟輕盈的造形魅力，不鏽鋼沒有鋒利銳角與幾何切割，而是呈現自然有機、優雅圓潤的曲線。大型雕塑作品之展示有趣的運用鏡面特性，讓展場中布置的漸層色塊反射包覆成為作品一部分。關於顏色之延伸探討在首次公開的「釉彩系列」中重新詮釋，藝術家透過直覺式的塗繪技法，嘗試以傳統東方媒材「漆」來結合鏡面不鏽鋼，如同炫彩的礦石結晶，頓時讓銀白金屬綻放出繽紛溫暖的色彩與光澤。展覽名稱「存在雕塑中」試圖探討雕塑成為物質的存在意義，以及雕塑與人、與空間的關係。德國哲學家海德格曾提出：「人是使得空間得以展開、時間得以連結的關鍵」，透過人們不同觀點的投射，讓存在產生意義，也讓雕塑獲得靈光。展場使用「鏡牆」巧妙破題並呼應作品，當觀眾穿梭其中，不鏽鋼反射出的形象與鏡牆中的自我交疊產生雙向互動，探討「空間、觀眾、作品」三者之間的虛實與自我感知，同時點出對於「存在」的反思。當藝術介入公共場域，存在的意義和影響力擴及城市景觀與生活美學，雕塑也因環境變遷而不斷蛻變，佇立在天與地之間，經由時空累積與心靈沉澱，「我在，故我思」。文／張育嫣 ____________________________________ ▍In Progress - 存在・雕塑中 / LAI KUAN-CHUNG 賴冠仲雕塑個展 ▍ 展期｜2021.09.04 (六) - 2021.10.30 (六) 展覽地點｜THE 201 ART - 順天建築 • 文化 • 藝術中心 (台中市西屯區文心路二段 201 號 B2F) 營業時間｜週二至週六 10:00 -18:00 (週日、週一及例假日休館) 主辦單位｜THE 201 ART - 順天建築 • 文化 • 藝術中心協辦單位｜入矩雕塑工作室 Art Rouge 線上導覽｜ARTOGO 帶你看展＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿ Every moment is “In progress” Text/Chang Yu Yang 8 years have passed since the last LAI KUAN-CHUNG solo exhibition. The stainless sculpture artist has never stopped thinking and searching for his self-position. He uses his bare hands to create pieces of works that are gentle and heart-warming. Artist LAI KUAN-CHUNG’s inspiration sparks from subtle observation of life and small anecdotes of people. His works are like a whisper in the ear, full of warmth and calmness. This exhibition is the compilation of past, present and future; it is a journey of constant changes and inner growth. The different stages of the artist’s creation and thinking process are display in five exhibit sections. LAI KUAN-CHUNG elaborate the unique characteristic of materials to the fullest. He made stainless steel feels not only a sculptural material, but also an organic object that carries conversation and reflects the changes of surrounding environment. As well as, selflessly accepting everyone’s emotions and thoughts. His works completely transformed the feature of cold and heavy metal, by creating mesmerizing soft and weightless shapes. Instead of sharp corners and geometric cuts, the steel took on a natural, organic, elegant and rounded curve. It is playful to emphasize the mirror like characteristic nature of stainless steel large-scale sculptures, which reflect the gradient color blocks on the floor, let the colorful patches become a part of the sculpture. Regarding the use of color, LAI KUAN-CHUNG extended the concept and imagination, initiating the brand new "Color Glaze Series". He uses intuitive painting techniques and try to combine the mirror stainless steel with the traditional oriental medium "lacquer." The result are beautiful works looks like dazzling crystal, a bloom of color on the silver and white metal. The title of the exhibition "In Progress" attempts to explore the meaning of the existence of sculpture as a material, and tackles the relationship between sculpture, beholders and space. As the great philosopher, Heidegger, once said: "Human is the key to the unfolding of space and the connection of time." Through the exploration of different perspectives, the meaning of existence and the aura of sculptures are established. The exhibition hall uses “mirror wall'' in corresponding to the stainless sculpture. The walls reflect audience presence, sculpture as well the exhibit hall, overlapping images creates interaction between "space, audience, and work." The concept explores how virtual reality and self-perception clashes and unfolds. When art intervenes in the public domain, the meaning and influence of existence extends to the urban landscape and living aesthetics. Sculpture, constantly evolving and adapting to reflect the ever-changing environment. Sculpture, standing between sky and earth, pondering and meditating through time and space.
